For detail information on the DIM4, please check out the manual

The DIM4 is a custom LED controller created by a Flamin Systems engineer which is also an aquarist and LED expert.

The DIM4 can dim 4 banks of 10v dimmable drivers (Inventronics) separately in 1024 stage intervals.  That means you can dim up to 4 colors separately in very tiny increments that allow a smooth transition between color intensities for sunrise/sunset.

Each one of the four banks of the dim 4 can also run exactly 3 LEDs at up to 500mA for the ability to add easy moonlighting to your aquarium or perfectly add up to 12 LEDs to a nano system without the need of any additional drivers and still have full automatic color control.

Each DIM4 now comes with two relay channels RL1 RL3 - relays not included.  These relay channels give out 12v when their channel goes live.  If CH1 goes live then RL1 gives out a 12v signal.  If CH3 goes live, then RL3 gives out 12v.  This is extremly useful to wire fans to.  It is also the buliding block to use the DIM4 to go "total darkness" with the drivers.  More of that is explained in the manual.

**RL1 RL3 are what is used to make the LEDs shut off totally when connected to a driver.  Drivers at 0v will still light LEDs so using the "Total Darkness" mode and the Relay channels, you can shut the LEDs off totally**

The DIM4 is an essential part of a LED system which allows for precise automatic color control for LEDs, ability to add moonlighting and also the ability to fully control a nano tank lighting easily.

To power the DIM4 you can use:

12v 500mA power supply if you are just controlling drivers

12V 5A Power supply for fans w/4PIN molex connector if you are powering LEDs directly

NOTE:  To make an easy connection to the above power supplies and to power a fan, pickup the 4 pin Molex to 3 pin fan connector and cut off one of the 3pin connections to connect to the controller easily.

  • Great product

    by Unknown – 4th Nov 2013

The DIM4 is very user friendly and stupid simple. Works as advertised, but looses a star from me for not including any sort of manual. Doesn't take much to figure it out, but should still come with some sort of manual.

  • Excellant Controller !!

    by Dennis – 23rd May 2013

This board works like a champ. The smooth transitions betweeen day periods is great and the controls are very easy to use. I am running 80 leds now and am adding another 40 soon with Inventronic drivers. The only feature I would like to see is a manual on/off for each channel to bypass setting the timers. This would be great for testing led setups without re-timing after each test.

  • DoeDoes exactly what it should

    by Mike – 23rd May 2013

This is a great controller. Very easy to use. The sunrise/sunset is very smooth with no noticeable sudden drops or increases in brightness. Also having the 2 extra all on outputs works great for cooling fans. I built a 160 LED system with 10 meanwell drivers and this unit performs like a champ.

  • Excellent controller

    by Mike Kelley – 13th May 2013

Excellent Controller very user friendly. I'm only using two banks but am going to use the other two for my refugium. And fast shipper. Thank you led groupbuy.

  • Reef Tank LED Dimmer Perfect to Simulate Day to Night

    by Your Name – 26th Feb 2013

Have you been searching the world over for just the right dimmer? Well look no further! LED Groupbuy has the reef tank LED dimmer that will blow your mind.

  • Great controller

    by Randal – 24th Feb 2013

I was considering building a arduino controller after purchasing the dim 4 and seeing its ability and the ease of operations Im glad I ditched the other I have 2 of these controlling 10 meanwell drivers and its working flawless

  • Stop Looking!

    by Phil – 19th Jan 2013

Awesome controller at a reason price. What more to you want in a controller? Currently running 5 Inventronics drivers on this controller. It gives you control over 4 channels, you can set light intensity, sunrise, sunset, time for each channel. Meets my expectations, runs 4 fans as well! Only thing missing is clouds and storms if your into that. Can also be used for moonlighting as well. Does it all at a fair price. I would recommend to a fellow hobbyist.

  • Perfect.

    by Chris – 13th Nov 2012

Great product that gives complete control over fixture color, brightness, and fade. It really is the best alternative to an arduino build.

  • классный контроллер

    by Sergey – 31st Oct 2012

Very good device, easy to programm. Really good build for affordable price.

  • Excellence!

    by Bug – 27th Oct 2012

Using this to control six Mean Well ELN drivers with 72 Cree's and I love it! Was going to use an ALC with my Reef Keeper to control these, but changed my mind and went with the DIM4.

    So far, VERY impressed!
