The XT-E is the replacement technology for the CREE XP-G using Cree's new silicon carbide wafers. They deliver more flux using less power. These are the base LEDs used in aquarium lighting as the white light, adding in other colors to supplement if necessary.
This LED comes in several Kelvin rating:
- Cool White - Great for planted tanks mixed 1:1 with warm white. Not recommended for reef tank.
- Neutral White - Great for reef tanks, used with XT-E royal blue and XP-E2 blue in a 2:4:1 ratio.
- Warm White - Great with planted tanks mixed 1:1 with cool white, and for tweaking certain non-fluorescent coral colors in reef tanks.
*please note warm white version comes with 2 solder pads

Easy ordering

Ordered this set of XTE LED's to replace a failed unit and for another system. The failed unit was purchased in 2014. This LED works the same, but the solder pads are not the same as the earlier units, requiring some workaround.

The lights worked perfectly. The only negative I have to say is the solder pads are very close to the screw mounts and can easily come into contact with them. The solder pads could have easily been positioned more intelligently.

Used this LED for under cabinet lighting and the brightness and quality of the LED is exactly as expected. PCB is very sturdy and well made. Very happy with the LED and its operation.

Bought the Neutral Whites, Takes about 6 to 8days to ship them to Holland. It's worth the wait! Good quality pcb and much brighter than the chinese Cree's. Not because the chinese ones are fake but because of the binning and labeling number this is the right choise of leds.

These have to be the best binned warm whites on the market. Very nice color, perfect for my needs and output some REALLY bright light. Dont look directly into them! Dont settle for the cheaper stuff that are lower binned!

I ordered the CREE X T - E Cool White for over kitchen Sink lighting. The lights are about 4 feet above my sink and they are making a big difference while working at the sink . I am running them at 482ma and 3V. Excellent product.
